MYTHICAL WRECKS IN THE NORTH
DROP OFFS OF THE BROTHERS
This cruise is a combination of the best dives of the North with the sites of the Brothers islands, the latter being probably the most famous in the Red Sea.
The “wreck” fans will be delighted to dive in the Strait of Gubal which has many famous shipwrecks from the 20th but also from the 19th century. After decades under water, they have become true artificial reefs. Getting closer to Sharm el Sheikh, we will not miss the world famous Thistlegorm, a huge cargo sunk by the Germans during the Second World War.
We will then reach the national park of Ras Mohamed, which reserves many surprises with sites such as Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef.
We will then set sail to the Brothers where steep drop-offs as well as two magnificent wrecks – Aida and Numidia – are to be found. Located in the open sea and subject to strong currents, the two rocky islets are the ideal place to meet large pelagics such as hammerhead, gray, oceanic white tip, tresher sharks. Sometimes a manta ray on the go gratifies divers of its presence.
We will end the week in Safaga where there are popular sites such as the walls of Abu Kefan or Panorama Reef, the magnificent coral gardens of Middle Reef or the wreck of Salem Express.
This cruise is suitable for divers in possession of an advanced diving license from an internationally recognized diving organization (eg. CMAS 2*, SSI advanced open water/advanced adventurer, PADI advanced or equivalent) and with a minimum of 50 logged dives.
